I have taken several career tests in the past. They Myer Briggs, The Strong Interest Inventory and The Holland Code Assessment. They all had one thing in common. These tests gave me a better representation of the careers and job titles my personality would mesh well with. The Career Interest Test & Report is very similar to the Holland Code Assessment. For example. If you take the test and it says you rank higher in the artistic and social areas then the test will zero in on careers that lend well to that type of personality. The great thing about some of these tests is that they actually list numerous careers that would be of interest to you and this helps point you in the right direction.
I definitely recommend taking a self-directed career test at least once during your career. If you are currently employed full-time, consider volunteering or working part-time in the identified career areas. This will give you a chance to explore a new career field.
