Do’s
- Do hire someone to help if you are unsure of how to write a quality resume
- Enlist Marc Scoleri directly for assistance marc@creativeinterns.com
- Do list accomplishments under each place of employment
- Do differentiate yourself by adding a title or headline at the top of your resume
- For example: Graphic Designer or Front-End Developer
- Do make it one page if you have been in the workforce for less than 10 years
- Do use specific key words in your resume that indicate your most valuable skills
Don’ts
- Don’t write long paragraphs of content that describe your job description
- Don’t put a photo on your resume – if a headshot is required for the job the company will request one
- Don’t use hard to read fonts for your resume and keep font sizes between 9-12 point
- Don’t send it out to an employer with having at least 2 other people proofread it
- Don’t keep sending out the same resume for every job, you will need to tailor it for different positions
Shared Office Space Solution
New York City is known for innovation and collaboration and now there is a place that startups and entrepreneurs can go to work at a fraction of the cost of leasing an entire office. It is called We Work and their mission is: “To create environments that support creativity, collaboration and innovation. In addition to satisfying our members’ practical needs, to empower and inspire them to grow – personally and financially.”
I just visited their newest location in New York City’s West Village neighborhood (175 Varick Street). It is a fantastic space and vibe. A culture of collaboration and cooperation was in the air and I would recommend checking We Work out if you are a NYCÂ entrepreneur. Who knows, you might just meet that business partner or software engineer you need to make you ideas come to life.

Internship Testimonial from CreativeInterns
“Creativeinterns.com has helped bridge the gap between being a design student and becoming a part of the professional world. It has given me the opportunity to work in a real Advertising setting, where I am collaborating on ideas within a team, working on a pitch from beginning to end, and getting real hands on experience that will further prepare me for a career in Advertising. It has put my work and self in the eyes of companies I would not necessarily have the opportunity to present myself to on my own. In a world where often who you know is just as important as the work you put forth, More
